Privacy Policy

Your genetic and health data is among the most personal information there is. This policy explains, without the runaround, exactly what we collect, why, and the control you keep over it.

Last updated: June 1, 2026Effective globally

Overview

Genelio, Inc. (“Genelio,” “we,” “us”) provides a service that reads lab and genetic reports you upload and answers your questions about them. We designed this product around a simple idea: your data is yours. We collect only what we need to give you accurate answers, we protect it seriously, and we never sell it.

This policy applies to genelio.health and the Genelio application. By using Genelio, you agree to the practices described here.

Information we collect

Reports you upload

The files you provide — DNA analyses, clinical and variant reports, microbiome scans, sports panels — and the data extracted from them to generate answers.

Account information

Your name, email address, and authentication details needed to create and secure your account.

Conversations

The questions you ask and the answers Genelio returns, so you can revisit them later.

Limited technical data

Device and usage information (such as browser type and error logs) used to keep the service reliable and secure.

Your genetic data gets extra protection

Genetic and health data is treated as sensitive personal information. We never sell it, never use it to train public or third-party models, and never share it for advertising. It is encrypted at rest and in transit, and access is strictly limited to the systems required to answer your questions.

We will never share your genetic data with employers, insurers, or law enforcement except where required by a valid legal order that we cannot lawfully refuse — and we will tell you when permitted.

How we use your information

  • To detect your report types and generate answers grounded in your data.
  • To save your reports and conversations so you can return to them.
  • To secure your account and prevent fraud or abuse.
  • To provide support when you contact us.
  • To improve the service — but only with de-identified or aggregated data, and never your genetic data, unless you explicitly opt in.

Sharing & disclosure

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with vetted service providers (such as secure cloud infrastructure) who process it on our behalf under strict confidentiality and security obligations, and only to the extent needed to run Genelio.

If Genelio is ever involved in a merger or acquisition, we will notify you and honor the commitments in this policy.

Your rights & choices

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as GDPR or CCPA. To exercise any right, contact us at our contact page and we'll respond within the timeframe the law requires.

Cookies

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and to run the service. With your consent, we use optional analytics cookies to understand how Genelio is used so we can improve it. You can accept or decline optional cookies at any time from the banner or your settings — declining never limits core functionality.

Data retention

We keep your data only as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. When you delete a report or your account, we remove the associated data from our active systems promptly and from backups within 30 days, except where retention is legally required.
